and, this year, the local chapter
decided to help out with the PACS-HCAC’s Teen Shopping
Program by holding a special “Bucket Shake” fundraiser near
downtown Nortonville, KY on November 25th.
In total, the Widows Sons were able to collect a total of
four-hundred dollars during the event and donated
fifty-percent of the net proceeds to the PACS-HCAC
yesterday, November 29th, in support of the annual holiday
benefit. What’s more, the Widows Sons explained to members
of the PACS-HCAC that they would be interested in helping
out again in 2012.With the
voluntary help of the Widows Sons, support from area
citizens, and gifts from past donors, PACS-HCAC Director
Bobbi Wilcox says that the program is approximately
three-thousand dollars away from hitting the final goal of
twenty-thousand dollars for 2011.
“We are so grateful for the Widow
Sons’ support of the program,” says Wilcox. “Their donation,
along with others, has put the Teen Shopping Program ahead
of schedule, so to speak. We’ve never been this close to our
total goal this early on. With that in mind, I’m confident
that we’ll reach or exceed our goal by the donation deadline
of December 16th.”
