SUBJECT: Withdrawal of recognition of all Widows Sons Chapters in The Grand Lodge of New York Jurisdiction
Dear Brother Robert ,
On this day, September 4, 2017, the Widows Sons Executive Council has withdrew our previous request that the Grand Lodge of New York reinstate a Grand Chapter of Widows Sons in the Grand Lodge of New York's jurisdiction under our supervision.
After a few new developments on social media involving a few members of the New York Widows Sons, and after much discussion, we decided that we do not want to be known as a motorcycle club (MC). We wish to take the Widows Sons back to its original path of Freemasonry, and be recognized as masons rather than what the members of the New York chapters and three other jurisdictions in the U.S. are displaying in public towards other masons and the recognized Widows Sons chapters, and on the social media sites, all while acting under the umbrella of the Widows Sons.
Effective today, the Widows Sons International Masonic Riders Association Executive Council has ruled that we no longer desire to recognize, or be represented by any Widows Sons chapters in the great State of New York. Would you please advise the Grand Master of New York of this Executive Council decision.
Carl A Davenport
